this morning, as i scraped chewed gum and cigarette butts off a fast food parking lot by a busy city road with half a broom, i’m pretty sure at least three mothers convinced their children to get a college education.

today was a wonderful sunday at jack’s, full of angry churchgoers and deletes and voids on the register and getting lots of orders wrong and customers telling tall tales about how i got their orders wrong so they could get free food and lots of black people with huge orders of chicken and lots of “special/ask me”

tomorrow the general manager who is a big black dude named jeff is going to lecture me again about how i’ve been working here for two months now and can’t be making “rookie mistakes” anymore and i’m going to give him my three weeks’ notice and find a nice, new job full of all the same shit that pays a whopping $7.20 an hour and then give it a couple months and decide if i want to move on to a new job or commit suicide
